Dancehall singer Nutty Neithan has addressed allegations that he snatched Empress from his former labelmate and boss, Maro, which led to his exit from the group.
For a long time now, there has been a rumor that Nutty Neithan had broken Empress and Maro’s romantic relationship, something he strongly denied.
In a TV interview, Nutty Neithan asserted that he had found Empress single, and that at the time, Maro was also dating his white girlfriend. He termed the rumor as unfounded and advised listeners to treat it with the contempt it deserved.
“It is not true. She was single before me, and he has a mzungu woman. Why would I do that to someone who has spotted me and given me a platform? That was a wrong rumour,” he said.
The news about their split was first confirmed last year by Empress, putting an end to years of public speculation. She revealed that it was a mutual agreement, something that Nutty Neithan came out to refute. He claimed that they were still together and, in fact, preparing their wedding. He has, however, finally admitted to the public that they have been apart for some years now.
Nutty and Empress have two children together, and he revealed that they have a healthy relationship and are comfortably co-parenting. The singer, however, denied any hopes of them ever reuniting, saying they had both moved on and were dating other people.

“We are separated; it’s been some years, but we are good. We respect each other, and we are jointly taking care of our children. She gave me two beautiful kids: a boy and a girl. I don’t do stunts, and I keep my private life on a low. This comes with mutual respect. I think I did enough, and I have no regrets. Why would I be thinking about going back? I’m somewhere right now, and I’m comfortable, as you can see me. I’m good and okay where I a,m and she is also okay where she is,” he said.
