Singer Nubian Li, real name Buken Ali, has been declared victorious in the just-concluded Nakawa Division mayoral race.
Earlier this year, Nubian Li announced his transition into active politics and officially declared his candidacy for the Nakawa Mayoral seat.
Throughout his campaign to secure the Nakawa Mayoral seat, Nubian has received significant guidance and support from his colleague, NUP party leader, and longtime friend, Bobi Wine.
In the race, Nubian faced political figures such as the incumbent Mayor, Paul Mugambe, who ran as an independent after losing the NUP flag, and the NRM candidate, Susan Zawedde.
Following the Electoral Commission’s declaration of him as the winner, Nubian Li thanked voters for entrusting him with the Nakawa Division leadership and pledged to serve and remain true to his values.
