The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially unveiled the campaign portrait of its presidential flag bearer, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, ahead of the 2026 General Elections.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the NRM Secretariat in Kampala and was led by the party’s First National Vice Chairperson, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo, alongside Secretary-General Richard Todwong.
While addressing the media, Todwong revealed that the upcoming elections will run under the theme:
“Protecting Gains as We Make a Qualitative Leap into High Middle-Income Status,”
a message that reflects both the NRM’s development goals and President Museveni’s Vision 2040.
“As NRM, we officially present to Ugandans the portrait of our presidential candidate for the 2026 general elections,” Todwong stated.
The event coincided with an ongoing National Conference harmonization meeting involving several party leaders and coordinators. Attendees included Emmanuel Dombo, Director for Communication and Public Relations; Hadijah Namyalo, National Coordinator in the Office of the NRM Chairman; Dicksons Kateshumbwa, Member of Parliament for Sheema Municipality; and Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, NRM Director for Mobilization, among others.
During the same event, the party met with district chairpersons to coordinate plans for the upcoming National Conference and to set the stage for early campaign preparations.
President Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, has been endorsed as the party’s presidential flag bearer for the 2026 polls, continuing his leadership under the party’s long-term development vision.
