The NRM Tribunal, established to hear petitions from the recent primaries, has said its rulings and verdicts will be final.
John Musiime, the tribunal chairperson, and Enoch Barata, the party’s legal director, urged aspirants who lose their cases to respect the tribunal’s verdicts and remain loyal to the party, emphasizing that further decisions rest with the party.
“As lawyers, we have ensured that every petition is handled fairly, without bias, and we have simplified procedures by not applying strict court regulations to accommodate the candidates,” Musiime said.
He said the tribunal has processed 426 petitions since July 29, 2025. As of today, August 6, 2025, rulings have been issued for 46 petitions. Candidates who have won will receive confirmation via email and physical letters.
Losing candidates, he said, will have the opportunity to collect their rulings from the tribunal, accompanied by their lawyers if desired.
