Renowned fruit vendor Night Ampulire, who gained widespread recognition after receiving a pickup truck from MTN Uganda, is now searching for her vehicle after it mysteriously disappeared in Entebbe. Ampulire, known for her resilience and hard work in her fruit vending business, explained that the car had broken down and required urgent repairs.
According to Ampulire, she was referred to a mechanic based in Kampala who quoted 800,000 Ugandan Shillings for the necessary repairs. Having only 700,000 UGX in savings, she paid the mechanic this amount with a promise to settle the balance later.
The mechanic then claimed he needed to test the vehicle after making initial repairs. However, instead of bringing it back, the mechanic drove the vehicle to an undisclosed location. It has now been nearly two weeks with no word on the car’s whereabouts.
Efforts to trace the car have so far proved futile. Ampulire has made public pleas for assistance, noting that the vehicle was a vital part of her livelihood. Authorities have been informed, and investigations are underway. The public is encouraged to report any sightings or suspicious activity related to the missing pickup.
