Navio Supports Eddy Kenzo With Grammy Vote as Recording Academy Member

Date:

Ugandan rapper Navio has revealed that he voted for fellow Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo to bring the Grammy Award home.

Navio is a member of the Grammy Academy, officially known as the Recording Academy, a diverse group of music professionals, including performers, songwriters, producers, and music educators, who participate in the Grammy Awards voting process.

He was invited to the Awards’ 50th-anniversary celebration and recognized as an award-winning East African artist. He has been a member for close to two years, and he revealed that he got the opportunity to vote for Eddy Kenzo in the forthcoming edition of the awards.

Navio encouraged more Ugandan creators to register for the academy and, breaking down the criteria, he revealed that one must have won several awards, have professional management, and have toured the globe, among other requirements.

Eddy and everyone are set. You do not need Navio to get on the Grammy Academy. You go online, register, and, if everything is in order, you are inducted into the Grammy Committee. The more numbers we have, the more we can vote. This year, I was able to vote for Eddy Kenzo as part of the committee. I voted for anyone who was from our region.

Eddy Kenzo was nominated under the category of Best African Music Performance for his song “Hope and Love” featuring Mehran Martin.

He will be facing Ayra Starr & Wizkid (Nigeria) – “Gimme Dat,” Burna Boy (Nigeria) – “Love,” Davido ft Omah Lay (Nigeria) – “With You,” and South Africa’s Tyla – “Push 2 Start,”.

The 2026 nomination marks Eddy Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination after ‘Gimme Love’ in 2024. The prestigious ceremony is set for February 1, 2026.
