Navio Criticizes Phone Obsession at Concerts, Compares 2000s and Today’s Music Industry

Date:

Rapper Navio has compared the music industry in the 2000s with the industry today, opening up about what he would change in the current era.

Navio started doing music in the era of the self-styled Big Three: Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, and Bobi Wine, describing the period as the most violent and full of fights, as artists would solve their beef by going after each other physically.

Bringing it into today’s industry, Navio credited the artists, saying that they had more respect for each other with fewer fights. When asked about what he would change in the industry, he noted that he would change the crowd’s obsession with gadgets.

Giving an example of concerts, Navio revealed that the era was so consumed with the love of phones that, instead of focusing on the performances, they were busy on their phones recording, something that was not the case in the past.

“Sometimes When you are performing or while a musician is on stage, people are putting up their phones. Before we used to see their faces, now we see their phones.

As soon as you come on stage, people want to record it. I want them to enjoy it since they are already watching me live. We also want to capture the moment because that is the person that you love and whose music you listen to. But I wish we could get the professional camera and maybe download the whole show after. Be in the moment and enjoy it,” Navio said.
