Ugandan hip-hop royalty Navio and The Mith have joined forces to deliver what is shaping up to be one of the most significant hip-hop projects of the year. On Sunday evening, the duo officially unveiled their collaborative album, GODLVL, during an exclusive listening party at Silo 15 in Bugolobi, giving fans, industry players and media an intimate first experience of the 14-track project.
The atmosphere at the event was filled with nostalgia, celebration and reverence for a culture both artists have helped build over the years. More than just an album launch, the evening felt like a reflection on the journey of Ugandan hip-hop itself—from underground rap battles and talent shows to mainstream recognition.
As guests listened to the project, Navio and The Mith opened up about the creative process behind GODLVL, describing it as an album rooted in legacy, brotherhood, family and authenticity.

“Every generation needs reminding where you come from,” Navio said. “We came up through talent shows, battles and ciphers, and GODLVL is our way of celebrating that journey while continuing to push the culture forward.”
For The Mith, the project goes beyond music.

“Behind every artist is a story, a family and a community that helped shape them,” he said. “GODLVL is our way of acknowledging those foundations and paying tribute to the people who made this journey possible.”
That sense of tribute is woven throughout the album. GODLVL doesn’t simply celebrate two legendary careers—it honors the people, communities and experiences that shaped them while creating space for the next generation.

One of the album’s biggest strengths lies in its rich and diverse collaborations. The project brings together talent from across Uganda and East Africa, featuring artists such as AY Masta, Vampino, Akeine, Maritza, Izabel UG, JB, Herbert Ssensamba, Benon Mugumbya, Lukas Blacc, Flex D’Paper, BigTril and Dagg Mizzo.
Perhaps the most remarkable collaboration on the album is Sikulimba Remix, which features the iconic Afrigo Band and legendary musician Moses Matovu. The collaboration creates a rare and symbolic bridge between Uganda’s modern hip-hop movement and one of the country’s most influential musical institutions, blending generations and sounds in a way few projects have achieved.

Guest artists present at the listening session praised Navio and The Mith for remaining true to their craft while continuously evolving. Many described GODLVL as a project built on trust, genuine relationships and a shared commitment to elevating Ugandan hip-hop.
Behind the sound is an equally impressive production team. Producers including Trigganomics, Ethan, Ledra, Timcence, Dagg Mizzo, Mr Mugabi, Josh SB, Kacey, Samurae and Mio Made It helped shape the album’s sonic identity, crafting a soundscape that fuses classic hip-hop energy with contemporary African rhythms and regional influences.

The making of GODLVL also reflects the growing infrastructure supporting Uganda’s creative industry. The project was partly recorded at Talent Africa Group Studios, with additional recording done at Icon. Talent Africa Group’s involvement highlights its expanding role beyond live events into nurturing music production and artistic collaboration.
Recorded across multiple studios and powered by some of East Africa’s finest creatives, GODLVL feels less like a standard album release and more like a cultural statement—one that reinforces hip-hop’s place in Uganda’s musical identity.

The 14-track album officially drops on Friday, June 19, and will be available on major streaming platforms.
As the night came to a close, one message rang loud and clear: hip-hop in Uganda is not just alive—it is evolving, thriving and refusing to fade.
