Musician, songwriter, and producer Daddy Andre has crowned his new wife the owner and head of his home, a move that differs from the usual societal norms.
Daddy Andre, real name Andrew Ojjambo, over the weekend officially visited his fiancée Sylvia Suubi’s parents at their home in Busia, where he delivered dowry and asked for her hand in marriage in a colorful traditional ceremony.
Speaking after his big day, Daddy Andre revealed in a TV interview how happy he was upon his huge milestone. He described Sylvia as a well-reserved woman who kept her life away from social media. He revealed that throughout their union, his wife has been the head of their home because of how hard she has worked to put it together.
“For my wife, it is a different story; I respect her, I will always cherish what we have between me and her. She keeps my secrets, and she heads my home. She owns my home because she built it. For those who do not read the Bible, you wouldn’t give your wives your homes because you still want to be with other women. You still want to enjoy your lives while showing other women that you can,” he said.
The couple’s ceremony follows their recent customary Kukyala celebration, during which Daddy Andre visited Sylvia’s parents to discuss issues related to their marriage and dowry.
