Singer and former talent manager Chagga Geoffrey has found himself at the centre of controversy after a young man came out claiming that he was his long-lost father.
The boy, who identified himself as Mwanje Sharif, visited the BBS TV offices, claiming that he grew up with only his mother and grandmother, who had always told him that Chagga was his biological father.
Mwanje, while narrating to viewers, revealed that Chagga visited his home area during one of his shows. They had an intimate moment with his mother, giving birth to him.
“One time, we were playing with our neighbors’ kids and fought. One child told me to go back to my father. This bothered me a lot, and one day I had to ask my grandmother about my family’s whereabouts. I was about 10 years old. My grandmother told me my father was Chagga and she would take me to him,”
Chagga Geoffrey, while leaving, however, gave his mother a wrong number that had never been available. His decision to go into the news was because he didn’t find any better way to get to Chagga.

Putting a disclaimer, he emphasized that he didn’t come out for financial reasons but because he wanted the father’s love and acceptance.
“I do not need any financial assistance or anything. I rent a place for myself and have my own place, but I want to know my father and family. To show me my other family or where he stays. I feel so much pain because I do not celebrate those big days that are spent with family. I want him to come out and acknowledge me because I have sleepless nights. I want someone to call my own. Nothing more,”
Mwanje encouraged Chagga to have him tested for DNA if he doubted his claims.
