His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, on his behalf and that of the entire Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has extended his heartfelt condolences to the royal household of the late Prince Al Haj Badru Kakungulu following the passing of his widow, the late Hajjat Sarah Namusisi Kakungulu. She was the mother of Prince Kassim Nakibinge and Prince Khalifan Lukanga Kakungulu, who passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Mufti Mubaje expressed his condolences during the final UMSC National Management Committee meeting for 2024, held at the UMSC headquarters, on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024. As the session Chair, while addressing departmental heads, he praised the late Hajjat Sarah Namusisi Kakungulu as a humble Muslim lady who led a fruitful life, embodying Islamic etiquette alongside Buganda’s cherished values.

She held a high position in the royal court as a Muzana, a beloved wife of a prince, and a caring mother, which allowed the late Prince Al Haj Badru Kakungulu to serve in various capacities in the public arena, most notably as the UMSC National Chairman from 1980 to 1985.

In her honor, Mufti Mubaje directed that Swatul Janah (funeral prayers) be held at the National Mosque. The prayers were conducted shortly after the Zuhr (afternoon) prayers, with Mufti Mubaje in attendance, alongside UMSC leaders. The service was led by His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Hafidh Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the 2nd Deputy Mufti.
