Mufti Mourns the Passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya

His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has expressed his deep sorrow upon the passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Member of Parliament representing Kawempe North Constituency.

In his brief condolence message issued on his personal Twitter on Thursday afternoon, January 8th, 2025, Mufti Mubaje described the late Hon. Ssegirinya as a devout Muslim who, at the time of his reversion to Islam, made his testimony of belief in Almighty Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) — the Shahada before the Mufti at the National Mosque. He fondly remembered Ssegirinya as a beloved leader and a true servant of the people.


Mufti Mubaje offered his fervent prayers to Almighty Allah, asking Him to forgive the late Hon. Ssegirinya’s earthly sins, elevate his good deeds, and grant him a place in His divine presence. The Mufti also prayed for patience for Ssegirinya’s close family, Parliamentary colleagues, his electorate, and the entire nation as they mourn his passing.
