Miss Uganda has officially launched her Back to My Roots Homecoming Tour, a journey she describes not as a celebration, but as a purpose. With confidence and clarity, she declared that her reign will be anchored in the Elle Cares Initiative, saying, “My crown is not for show; it is a responsibility.
Her advocacy focuses on three pillars: ending gender-based violence, empowering youth through education, and improving community health and access to clean water. Speaking with emotion, she emphasized, These are not just ideas on paper; these are lived realities for thousands of Ugandans.
Ending gender-based violence forms the core of her mission. Through Elle Cares, she will expand awareness programs, support survivor support systems, and launch community responsibility campaigns. She highlighted initiatives such as the 23 Queens Project, which aims to build confidence and opportunity among women, and the Men for Change initiative, which brings boys and men into the conversation as allies in prevention. She noted, We cannot end violence by speaking only to women; we must engage everyone.
Her work will also extend into mental health advocacy, including an outreach visit to Butabika Hospital. We must heal the invisible wounds, too.
Education stands as the second pillar. With pride, she introduced the Rewards for Education App, a tool that provides verified academic documents, scholarships, and learning incentives. She stated, “Education is the one investment that always has returns, and technology will help us close the gap.
Her third focus is community health, menstrual dignity, sanitation, and access to clean water. Through Elle Cares, she will continue distributing hygiene kits, supporting menstrual health awareness, and constructing sanitation systems in underserved areas. “Dignity should never be a privilege,” she said.
The heart of her announcement is the Back to My Roots Tour happening from November 26th to 28th. She will return to her childhood community to renovate her mother’s former school, benefiting over 370 pupils; launch the Elle Cares Sports Gala; distribute sanitary supplies; drill boreholes; and end with a community thanksgiving. “I am going home not as a queen, but as a daughter returning with purpose,” she shared.
