With confidence and purpose, Miss Uganda has officially launched her Back to My Roots Homecoming Tour a project not just of celebration, but of service, healing, and national impact. Speaking with unmistakable conviction, she announced that her reign will be guided by Elle Cares Initiative, an umbrella of programs focused on ending gender-based violence, empowering youth through education, and improving community health and access to clean water.
Her voice carried both passion and urgency as she emphasized that these pillars are not symbolic, they are a call to action rooted deeply in lived realities faced by countless Ugandans every day.
Ending gender-based violence stands at the core of her advocacy, and through Elle Cares, she is launching initiatives that raise awareness, strengthen survivor support structures, and amplify community responsibility.
n her remarks, she highlighted key programs including the transformative 23 Queens Project, designed to empower women with confidence, skills, and opportunities, and the Men for Change initiative, which intentionally involves men and boys as allies in ending abuse and breaking long-standing cycles of silence and stigma.
She also revealed plans for a mental health outreach visit to Butabika Hospital, demonstrating her commitment to trauma healing and mental well-beingareas often overlooked in national conversation but deeply intertwined with the effects of violence and inequality.
Education and youth empowerment form the second pillar of her vision, and with visible pride, she unveiled the Rewards for Education App, a groundbreaking digital tool that gives students access to verified academic documents, educational rewards, scholarships, and incentives designed to make learning more accessible and rewarding. She shared her hope that technology will close opportunity gaps and redefine academic motivation in a generation growing up in an increasingly digital world.
Her third pillar centers on community health, menstrual dignity, sanitation, and water access issues that remain urgent for millions of families. Through Elle Cares, she affirmed continued investment in menstrual health awareness, distribution of sanitary kits, mental wellness advocacy, and the construction of water and sanitation systems in underserved communities. These efforts, she underscored, are essential for dignity, safety, and the health of future generations.
The heartbeat of her announcement was the Back to My Roots Homecoming Tour, scheduled from November 26th to 28th, which will see her return to her childhood community not as a beauty queen on display, but as a daughter coming back with purpose. During the tour, she will oversee the renovation of her mother’s former primary school, a project set to benefit more than 370 pupils. She will launch the Elle Cares Sports Gala in Katovu, Malongo, initiate the construction of new toilet facilities in Lwengo, distribute sanitary pads and hygiene packages to young girls, drill boreholes with support from SIAS, and conclude the tour with a community thanksgiving service.
Her return home is symbolic yet practical a reminder that true leadership begins in the spaces that shaped us.
Looking ahead, she announced plans to amplify Uganda’s global identity through its most celebrated export coffee. Calling it “our national pride,” she pledged to champion the coffee sector as a source of youth employment, women-led enterprise, global investment, and sustainable development.
She also revealed the upcoming Influential Women Gala 2025, an event that will honor inspiring Ugandan women across diverse sectors and create a space where mentorship, leadership, and legacy can be celebrated and strengthened.
In closing, she expressed gratitude to her partners Elle Cares Initiative, Miss Uganda Foundation, Fairfield Charity Organization, Secrets Sanitary Pads, Cleanette, Wandaz, SIAS, and individual supporters before making a heartfelt call for continued collaboration through funding, volunteerism, partnerships, and media support. As the country approaches elections, she ended her message with a reminder grounded in unity and patriotism: a plea for peaceful participation, mutual respect, and responsible voting.
“My reign is rooted in ending violence, empowering youth, restoring dignity, and bringing hope back to our communities.”
