Mikie Winie Explains Absence At His Brother Bobi Wine’s Political Rallies

Date:

Musician Mikie Wine has found himself at the center of criticism after failing to perform at his elder brother, Bobi Wine’s, political rallies.

Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, alias Bobi Wine, under the National Unity Platform, is among the presidential candidates on the ballot paper in the upcoming election and has been to different parts of the country seeking votes.

As a family, many expected to see the Ssentamu artists, including Mikie Wine, as regular performers; however, the opposite is true.

During a YouTube interview, Mikie Wine revealed that while he supports his brother’s political ambitions, he is currently on tour and working tirelessly to raise awareness about his maiden concert.

Mikie expressed his support for his brother and his political ambitions, noting that he is always with him when he can. This, however, doesn’t diminish the support and backing from citizens who also believe in his values and his cause for change.

My job is music, and if I do not work, I will not eat. Uganda doesn’t belong to my family, but it concerns us all equally. Just as you send me to run the campaigns, you should be there too. It is not a family business. At this point, he is not just my brother but a presidential candidate who you should support, too, if you believe in his ideas. If you don’t attend the campaigns and keep pushing me there, if it gets to a point of reaping, will you allow me to get a bigger share than yours? We are fighting against nepotism, and we do not want this to be about the Ssentamu brothers. We need to fight together if we believe in him. We can all support him. I can get money from my job and use it to help him fuel the car, too.
