Mikie Wine and Dax Vibez released on bond, Police link arrest to assault

Date:

In the wee hours of yesterday morning, news went viral on social media with clips showing the arrest of Mikie Wine and Dax Vibez. The pair had gone to perform at the Baba TV Ekitudha event in Jinja before being rounded up by security operatives at 2 AM.

The Kiira Region Police Spokesperson, SP Mubi James, while speaking to BBS TV, narrated that after the two brothers had finished their performance, they made a quick stop at Shell Ambercourt on their way back to Kampala.

They got into a heated argument with Ibra Hussein, a resident of Jinja City, and as a way of resolving the matter, they drove to CPS Jinja.

Ibra Hussein filed assault charges against Mikie Wine, alleging that he had beaten him up. Mikie Wine, in turn, also filed a case of malicious damage against him, claiming that he destroyed his car.

While we tried to intervene to have the matter resolved, Dax Vibez punched Ibra Hussein, and he had a fresh case of assault filed against him. SP Mubi spoke during a phone interview.

Dax Vibez

At the time of the interview, Dax Vibez was still detained at CPS Jinja while Mikie Wine and Ibrah were released on police bond.

We encourage citizens to respect one another. Please exercise discipline and stop the disrespect. Treat fellow humans well because we are the same, he added.
