Media personality MC Kats has opened up on his journey living with HIV and cleared the air that his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Fille, knew about his status before they became sexually active.
Rumours had been around for a long time about MC Kat’s HIV status until he personally disclosed it in 2019 in a nightclub. His behavior changed, and his family linked it to depression before forcing him into rehab.
He is one of the celebrities who have not shied away from disclosing their status and advocating for HIV patients. A year later, he jumped on an interview with Karitas where he disclosed more about how he lived with the virus that led to the death of his baby mama.
Given that he had sired a child with Fille, netizens crucified him and accused him of hiding his status and going ahead to procreate with the ‘Sabula’ hitmaker.
In a recent interview, MC Kats defended himself, emphasizing that Fille was well aware of his status before they went further. He revealed that he had told her about his being HIV positive before they became sexually active, but Fille reluctantly gave in.
“I met Fille after I had contracted the virus. People just misunderstood that interview with Karitas, and they blamed me for it. Karitas was my friend, but she didn’t bother calling me. Fille knew I was sick from day one. Even the first time we slept together, I asked her what if I gave her the virus, and she said we should leave this to God.
Kats was, however, surprised that Fille never contracted the virus and therefore refers to her and their daughter as his miracles.

Kats and Fille Mutoni had been together for several years, both as a couple and business partners. Their relationship was on and off until they officially split and moved on with their lives. Despite moving on with their lives, Kats says she will forever be his best friend because of what they have been through.
