Mathias Walukagga, Jacob Omutuuze reconcile after public clash over Rema Namakula

Date:

Radio personality DJ Jacob Omuttuze and Kadongo Kamu musician Mathias Walukagga have finally put an end to their years-long feud.

The surprising reconciliation happened at the National Unity Platform, where they had each gone to drop their interest forms. Mathias Walukagga, who received the nomination for the Busiro East MP seat, revealed that he had come to escort his now friend Jacob Omutuuze to pick interest forms for the Bunamwaya division mayor seat.

Jacob noted that they had no reason to fight and would campaign vigorously for each other to win the election.

“People should know that we may disagree in life, but we are the same when it comes to NUP. We might fight out there in the field but once you step here at the headquarters, we are brothers,” Walukagga said.

The feud between the two parties began years ago, and the allegations were that they were both competing for Rema Namakula. The media alleged that they both had romantic interests.

Even when Rema settled with someone else, Jacob and Walukagga continued with their beef. On many occasions, they appeared in interviews, throwing jibes at each other. Jacob, who previously worked on Dembe FM, vowed never to play his opponent’s songs on his show.

In their reconciliation interview, the pair denied the allegations, revealing that the issues they were dealing with were different and had been resolved.

“It happens, and as men, we get to a point and make up; we are not like women,” Jacob Omutuuze told the press.
