Music fans and well-wishers have expressed concern over once-celebrated musician Master Parrot after reports that he lost his mind over addiction.
In the video clips circulating on social media, Master Parrot, real name David Sifayo, is seen speaking in an uncoordinated jazz style. He kept switching topics, which, in the end, didn’t make sense and led people to believe he had lost his mind.
Master Parrot’s mother also appeared in an interview, explaining that her son was an alcohol addict who kept losing his mind every time he was under the influence. She called upon well-wishers to help rehabilitate her son to stop him from getting access to alcohol.
The clips have attracted the attention of different people, including fellow artists like Qute Kaye, who have once suffered the same fate.
Qute Kaye revealed that he was trying hard to reach out to Master Parrot to see how he could help. He encouraged Ugandans to work together to help him before it is too late.

“That is a disease, and it almost killed me. Everyone should stop pointing fingers and laughing at him. You enjoy those who are suffering, but it is not right. This is the right time to help him. When he gets the help he needs, he will bounce back, do his things, and be useful to his family. He is so talented, but at this point, he is sick, and we need to help him immediately. Let us drag him to rehab and treat him. Addiction is so bad, and it can also kill,” he said.
