Martha Mukisa Opens Up on Body Shaming After Childbirth

Date:

Musician Martha Mukisa has opened up about the negative comments that have come with her body weight after giving birth.

Over the years, Martha Mukisa has revealed that critics have been targeting her body and criticizing her weight. During her TV interview, the Black Magic Entertainment singer took pride in being a ‘thick’ woman and called upon critics to respect the fact that everyone was created differently.

Martha Mukisa revealed that trolls have always focused on their body structure, making it look like women of her size didn’t deserve to be doing music. This has overshadowed the incredible talent and ability that they possess.

She further emphasized that taking a bold step to speak against body shamers was not because she was bothered, but she wanted to encourage and boost fellow women’s confidence.

“I talked about why people love pointing out thick women. God created me this way, and he couldn’t make us the same way; some are slim, slender, big-chested, big bummed, among others, so we have a variety.

Some people want to make you feel like, because you are thick, you are not supposed to be in this career. More women like me are dense, very fit, and have beautiful voices. They shouldn’t put us down just because of the way we were created.

I do not speak about it out of pain, but I know some people do not have the confidence and courage I have. Many are in their shells and refuse to take part in many activities because of their weight. I do this to give those women confidence that they can do this.

Talking about it made me feel great. Maybe now people could think about other things like the talent, creativity, and the beautiful woman besides Martha’s weight,” she said.

Martha revealed she would be glad to stand in the gap and advocate for women in her position. She felt that they needed someone to advocate and encourage them as they could easily come out of the weight gain after childbirth.

“We also love our bodies, but we love them fit and healthy. I’m fit and healthy too,”
