The Manafwa Resident District Commissioner, Patience Webule, has responded to allegations by Nabafu Fridah, a contestant for Manafwa District Woman MP under NRM that she is demanding Shs100M from contestants to help them win NRM Primaries.

Nabafu made the allegations before Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM EC Chairperson during a consultative meeting held at the EC’s headquarters on Thursday, 10th July, 2025.

Nabafu alleged that she has a recording where the RDC mistakenly called her thinking she was calling Musibikha, (another contestant). In the conversation, the RDC allegedly demanded Shs100M from Musibikha to make things, “easy” for her to win the Primaries.

She further alleged that the RDC and the District team is working to aid Musibikha, Godfrey Wakooli (Butiru MP Aspirant), Kigayi Kosea LCV Chair, and Werikhe Peter Christopher current MP Bubulo West to rig the NRM primaries.

Sources privy to the meeting, intimated to this reporter that Tanga Odoi promised to forward the recording to NRM EC Lawyers to confirm whether the voice in the recording belongs to the RDC.

However, in a media briefing today, Saturday, 12th July, 2025, Webule, denies the allegations and has challenged Nabafu to give evidence.

While speaking to media at her home located at Nkoma in Mbale city, Webule described the allegations as baseless and aimed at tarnishing her name and the security apparatus in Manafwa.

She emphasized that her office and security remain impartial during elections. Webule called on anyone with evidence of her asking for money to bring it out or any wrongdoing to come forward, stating that she will not be swayed by unfounded accusations.

In a final appeal, Webule urged voters and the general public to maintain peace as the country heads towards party elections on Thursday next week.
