A 35-year-old housemaid named Precious Tumuhirwe has been given a 40-year prison sentence for viciously abusing a four-year-old girl in Kikoko Zone, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District, as seen on camera.
Chief Magistrate Shallon Niwaha arraigned Tumuhirwe today in Kira Magistrates Court on counts of aggravated child cruelty. She entered a guilty plea, was found guilty, and received a 40-year jail sentence.
The event occurred on December 27, 2024, and was caught on camera. The woman was called for to be arrested immediately after the video went viral on social media, and many people demanded that she be given a life sentence for her conduct.
On December 29, Tumuhirwe was taken into custody in Kabale District, and on December 30, he was taken to Kampala. She was held in Kira Police Station until today, when she appeared in court and was found guilty based solely on her own admission of guilt.
