Speaking during her TV interview with Sanyuka TV,  Maama Kalibbala swore before viewers that they were not in a romantic relationship beyond the screen. She revealed that they were on good terms and described their relationship as good, with no quarrels or fights.

She confirmed that they both have their partners and children back at home, and their ‘Maama Kalibbala and Taata Kalibbala’ title was just for show.

“He is Taata Kalibbala, and I’m Maama Kalibbala. But the kids I have at my home are for my husband, and Swengere and I too have our own families back at our homes. We both have our personal families,” she said.
