DJ and media personality Lynda Ddane has opened up about her weight loss journey and how she was affected by social media backlash.
A few years ago, Lynda Ddane made headlines for her significant weight loss. While a section of critics claimed she did it on purpose, others speculated that she was grappling with health challenges. The constant criticism pushed her to take an HIV test live on Instagram to settle the HIV speculations.
While addressing the press, Lynda Ddane recalled scrolling through TikTok looking for dance videos, only to have everyone address her weight. At this point, she confessed that she had come to hate everyone, which was hard given that she worked in public spaces.
“I wondered how someone who doesn’t know me would talk about me. We have never met, sat in the same place, or even known how to say my name, yet you say you know me.
I was so mad. At some point, I was mad at the whole world and everyone in it. It was harder for me because I work in a public space. Now imagine having to come and work for people who are abusing you; it was hard, and it hurt,” she said.

She was, however, lucky to get through it and focused on her mental health, and with this, everything started falling in place. She loved herself through the situation and, with the peace of mind, she was able to regain the weight.
