KUNTA CEO Lubwama Eric and ESB Engineer Irene Nantongo Wed in Grand Irish Castle Ceremony

Date:

On July 28th, 2025, the majestic Dromoland Castle in Ireland played host to what many are calling the “wedding of the year,” a luxurious and intimate celebration marking the union of two remarkable individuals: Lubwama Eric Michael, founder and CEO of KUNTA, and Nantongo Irene Catherine, a distinguished Engineer at Ireland’s national energy company, ESB.

Far more than a lavish ceremony, their wedding symbolized the merging of ambition, love, and shared success. The private, invite-only event welcomed close friends and family from around the world, including Uganda, Germany, Sweden, the UK, and beyond, for a week-long celebration. Guests began arriving days in advance and were treated to curated tours of Ireland’s most stunning landmarks, including the iconic Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, famous filming sites for major Hollywood productions.

The event drew national attention, with Ireland’s state broadcaster RTÉ covering the ceremony and the couple’s story, soon to air on national television.

While the wedding spared no expense, with some rooms at Dromoland Castle costing upwards of UGX 21 million and a single meal priced around UGX 1,120,000, the scale and elegance of the occasion pale in comparison to the accomplishments of the couple.

Eric is a formidable figure in both the entertainment and construction industries, leading two powerhouse companies: KUNTA Productions and ZORAN Construction. KUNTA, an East African production and marketing giant, operates in four countries and is now expanding into Ireland. The company is behind some of the region’s most successful TV shows, currently working on Netflix projects and partnering with prestigious global clients.

Originally from Uganda, Irene holds three engineering degrees in Energy and Chemical Engineering. She currently works in Dublin as an Innovation Specialist and Engineer at ESB, Ireland’s national electricity generation and trading company. Her technical expertise and forward-thinking mindset provide a strong complement to Eric’s entrepreneurial vision, creating a partnership that is as professionally synergistic as it is personally inspiring.

Their shared journey continues with the upcoming launch of NYOTA BIGI, a major talent search initiative in Tanzania akin to the “Got Talent” franchise. It builds on the phenomenal success of YOLESA EKITONE, the viral Ugandan talent show that captivated millions.

Yet beyond the glitz, this wedding stands as a powerful testament to their enduring love, mutual respect, and shared values.

Eric and Irene’s story is one of ambition, resilience, and global vision. From East Africa to Ireland, their partnership embodies a cross-continental success story, a tale of love, collaboration, and purpose that continues to inspire all who witness it.
