Kisoro-The Kisoro District NRM Registrar, Mujambere Tadeo, has cautioned aspiring candidates in tomorrow’s elections against attempting to bribe election registrars, warning that such acts threaten the integrity of the electoral process.
Speaking during a press briefing at his office in Kisoro Municipality, Mujambere revealed that some LC3 chairperson aspirants for sub-counties and mayoral candidates for town councils have tried to influence registrars with money.
He said these attempts disrupt proper use of the official voters’ register and undermine transparency.
He stressed that no individual will be allowed to vote unless their name appears and is verified in the voters’ register, adding that all polling and election officers will undergo thorough training to ensure smooth and credible voting.
Mujambere also urged voters to arrive early at their polling stations, noting that verification will be the first step before voting begins.
He further warned the public against acts of chaos, violence, or issuing threats, saying such misconduct could lead to suspension or nullification of results in affected areas.
Tomorrow’s elections will determine NRM flag bearers for various local government positions in Kisoro District.
