Kin Bella Opens Up About Mother’s Abandonment at the Hospital and Her Tough Childhood

Date:

Ugandan singer Kin Bella, real name Niwabo Belinda, broke down in tears midway through sharing her life experiences.

Kin Bella, during a TV interview over the weekend, revealed that her mother was raised in a rigorous, staunch Muslim family. At 15 years old, she became pregnant, and her family disapproved, forcing her to dump the newborn Bella at the hospital.

Her father picked her up and tried raising her. She, however, didn’t get the love she needed, as family members kept blaming her for her father’s misfortunes.

Unfortunately, at the age of 16, she lost her father, the only surviving parent that she knew cared for her. At that time, Kin Bella reveals she lost herself and a purpose in life. Her father’s family forced her out of their home, telling her to look for her real family.

“His family blamed me and called me a failure. They said my mum lied to their son and made him go through a lot. They put everything on me. Onwards, I didn’t have a father figure, a sister, or a friend. It has been tough. I grew up with his family, but they kept reminding him that I wasn’t their kid. After he died, they told me to go somewhere else and look for my real dad. They are against me,” she said.

Kin Bella further noted that her mother didn’t reach out or even check in to see how she was doing. She, on the other hand, didn’t go to her because of the bad stories she had grown up hearing about her.

“Imagine someone leaving you in the hospital. The reason she gave for leaving me behind was that she thought I was an albino because I was too brown. I know she was young, but when you grow, you look for your child. Had to grow up and look for her. I knew where she lived, and I tried to make her be in my life; for me to have a parent at least,” she said.

Kin Bella revealed that not having a parent or growing up in a loving family affected her a lot. She lost trust in people and became a loner because she had to face the world at a young age and worked in bars and restaurants to survive.

She is, however, grateful for how her life turned out. At this point, she is one of the promising young female artists trying to make their way on the charts.
