Kibirige Outlines Agenda as He Seeks NUP Flag for Nakawa East MP Race – Xclusive UG.

Date:

Nakawa-Kassim Kibirige, one of the nominated candidates under the National Unity Platform (NUP) for the Nakawa East parliamentary seat in the forthcoming 2026 general elections, has unveiled his priorities and pledged commitment to residents should he secure the party flag.

In an interview, Kibirige expressed gratitude to the people of Nakawa East, particularly the youth and grassroots mobilizers who encouraged him to join the race.“My candidature is not just a personal ambition. It’s a reflection of the voices in Nakawa East who feel left out, unheard, and underserved. I come with energy, vision, and a deep commitment to the values of NUP and the needs of our people,” Kibirige said.

If elected, he promised to focus on tackling youth unemployment through vocational empowerment, expanding access to quality healthcare, improving education and skilling programs, and strengthening community leadership with transparency at the center of service delivery.

Kibirige is vying for the party flag against NUP Deputy Spokesperson Waiswa Mufumbiro, making the contest one of the most closely watched within the opposition party. The competition has already started drawing attention in both Nakawa and Kampala at large.

The NUP primaries are expected to be highly competitive as the party positions itself ahead of the 2026 general elections.
