Keko claims top spot in Ugandan Hip-Hop, asserts supremacy over male rappers

Date:

Female rapper Keko Town has branded herself the best rapper in Uganda, surpassing all the male rappers in the game.

During an interview, Keko ranked herself number one, followed by GNL Zamba, Navio, The Mith, Atlas, St. Nellysade, and Lyrical G, among others. In her submission, Keko emphasized that no one in Uganda was as accomplished in the genre as she was and that they couldn’t be compared to what she had achieved.

All of them cannot compare to me because I’m the GOAT, and they are still young. I’m not at Recho Rey’s level because she is still young and discovering her voice, and I already did that a long time ago,” she said.

Keko is undoubtedly a cornerstone in the rap industry. Even when she decided to leave the country at the peak of her career, she continued to dominate the charts, leaving a significant impact on the genre.

She started her career in a male-dominated industry with rappers like Mckenzie, GNL, Navio, and Mun G, among others, but she stood out.

She went bar to bar with them and reached significant milestones like featuring on international stages and winning awards.

With these career achievements, Keko noted that she has turned down numerous requests from emerging musicians for collaborations. In her defence, she claims they have not reached her level.

I usually tell them to go back to the drawing board and work hard first, then come back, and we work together. I do not even remember them, she said.
