Karole Kasita Explains Funeral Performance at Hustle Quin Burial Amid Backlash

Date:

The late dancer Hustle Quine’s burial sparked mixed reactions, following several creatives dancing and singing during the session.

Hustle Quin tragically passed away in an accident that happened last week in Bweyogerere. She was a big fan of Karole Kasita, and before her death, she allegedly wished to have the mourners play her star’s song ‘Yaka’ and have people dance to it.

To honor her last wish, a group of friends dressed in deeras stood up in front of mourners and the coffin and had Karole Kasita perform while they jammed to the song.

The action, however, sparked mixed reactions online, with social media users condemning the act of disrupting a holy mass. They described it as disrespect to the dead and the people who were mourning the death of their loved one.

“That is why people don’t take musicians seriously. Why interrupt a holy mass because the deceased wished for a dance at their funeral? Wait for the priest and do your things after,” journalist Gabriel Buule questioned.

Responding to critics, Karole Kasita had this today. So people think I left home to go for a burial gig?
That’s insanity. Did u ever stop to think that we r family too? I was just caught inbetween smth i too wasn’t
aware of. The priest paused the Mass and called me up! I either had to sing or sing, if u know what I mean!
