Police in Kamuli have arrested one Jonan Balisanyuka for allegedly causing the death of a 15-year-old pupil.
It has been determined that the deceased was Bakaki Mathias, a pupil at Luzinga’s Five Star Nursery and Primary School. The incident took place in the Kamuli District’s Kibeto-Buyima Zone, Luzinga Parish, and Wankoole Sub-county.
ASP Michael Kasadha stated that initial findings indicate that on March 19, 2025, at around 5:00 p.m, Bakaki was returning from school with friends.
On their way, they encountered a heap of sugar cane under the watch of Balisanyuka. When the children attempted to take some cane to eat, Balisanyuka chased them, but Bakaki did not run away. The suspect then assaulted Bakaki, causing him to fall unconscious.
Bakaki was taken to a nearby clinic and declared dead upon arrival.
