Kampala Metropolitan Police is hunting for a one Asiimwe Christian aka Don Chris, the Chief Executive Officer for Sky Pins Tour and Travel Company, an external labour recruitment company for conning unsuspecting people of their money.
SSP Patrick Onyango, the police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan area also appeals to members of the public who have fallen victim to this company, but have not reported to police to go to CID Commander KMP immediately.
It is alleged that from the year 2022 to date, Sky pins Tours and Travel Company ran several advertisements on TV/Radio stations and other social media networks like Tit-tok about job opportunities offered abroad and encouraged the public to visit their offices located at Ntinda Haruna mall.
This prompted several people to visit their offices. The victims were promised to travel on loan after depositing half of the full payment (s) according to different contracts for different jobs in different countries like Canada, United Kingdom, Qatar, Dubai, Luxembourg among others.
Money was paid by different victims ranging from Shs 3.5 million to Shs 10 million depending on different job contracts on different dates, which is estimated to a tune of Shs 500,000,000/= all together.
Most victims who paid were issued with company receipts and would be promised to travel in a period of 2 to 6 months, but unfortunately, the victims did not travel to the countries as had earlier agreed.
The company changed their location from Ntinda Haruna mall, where the majority of the victims paid money to Kitende along Entebbe Road.
After several demands by the victims to the purported owner of the company a one Asiimwe Christian alias Don Chris to take them abroad or refund their money, which he failed, the victims approached the Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Barugahara for intervention, who later forwarded the victims to CID Commander Kampala Metropolitan Police for action.
On the 17th of June, 2025, a general inquiry file was opened, and investigations commenced. A total of 85 victims were interviewed, and their statements were recorded.
Police have found out that most victims paid money between the years 2023 and 2024 at Ntinda Haruna mall and a negligible number paid at the current office located at Kitende along Entebbe Road.
Despite several demands for refund by most victims, the company has remained adamant with a series of threats and intimidation by Asiimwe Christian alias Don Chris as alleged by most victims.
Sky pins Tours and Travel Company, according to the Ministry of Gender and Labour, has never been authorized to operate as an external labor recruitment agency.
