KAMPALA: Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Found Dead in Her House

The territorial police at Kasangati Division are investigating a case of sudden death involving Ms. Fatumah Bbuye Nabiwemba, a 47-year-old Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions attached to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) headquarters.

 

The incident was reported on 10th July 2025 at around 8:36 p.m. by Mr. Hamuza Kabanda, a driver at the DPP headquarters.

 

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for the Kampala Metropolitan Area, preliminary findings indicate that the deceased was last seen at her workplace approximately four days before her body was discovered. She was found unresponsive in her residence in Wampeewo, Kasangati Town Council, where she lived alone.

 

Owoyesigyire stated that a team of detectives, led by the Division Police Commander, visited the scene, conducted a search, and recovered several items of evidential value.

 

The body was transported to the City Mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

 

Meanwhile, a statement from ODPP says burial is slated for Saturday, 12th July, 2025 at Kammengo village, Kyotera district where the deceased who served as Prosecutor for 22 years in different capacities will rest.
