Fred Tugume Byaruhanga, a resident of Kiyonjo cell in Muhorro Town Council, has been arrested for reportedly raping and killing his six-year-old daughter. Authorities say Byaruhanga sexually assaulted the girl before strangling her and leaving her body inside their home. At the time of the crime, he was living alone with the child after separating from her mother.

According to Francis Kyalimpa, a local resident, neighbors heard the girl screaming and rushed to help, only to discover her lifeless inside the house.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson, stated that community members and detectives launched a manhunt, leading to Byaruhanga’s arrest as he hid in a nearby bush.
