The Delegates at the National Convention of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Party have today, Tuesday, July 08, 2025 elected interim leaders to steer the Party for the next two years.
Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, has been elected interim president for a two-year term while Buikwe South MP Lulume Bayiga, a recent defector from the Democratic Party (DP), has been elected to deputise Lukwago in the Buganda region.
Kira Municipality MP, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has been elected the party’s Secretary General.
The event attracted political observers, civil society actors, and hundreds of supporters from across the country.
Leaders from other opposition parties in attendance included Rtd Mayor General Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation(ANT),Hon. Ken Lukyamuzi of Conservative party (CP), Sarah Birete from the election observers, a delegation from NEED party led by president Kabureta among other dignitaries.
With the unveiling of its Constitution and leadership, the People’s Front for Freedom says it is ready to take on the next political chapter and actively participate in Uganda’s democratic process ahead of the 2026 general elections.
