The Mpigi Chief Magistrates Court has charged and remanded, the LC V Chairperson Mpigi District, Ssejjemba Martine, Kirumira Fredrick (Chairperson) and Nakamoga Sarah, the Secretary, Mpigi District Service Commission.

The trio that was arrested on Friday, 27th June, 2025 were charged today, Monday, 30th June, 2025 for allegedly demanding money by menaces from job applicants within the district.

They have been remanded until 8th July 2025.

It is alleged that the District Service Commission has been selling jobs, with applicants being required to pay bribes ranging from UGX 50,000 and 15 million in order to be considered for employment.

Their arrest followed a directive from His Excellency, the President who, during his Parish Development Model (PDM) monitoring tour in the Greater Mpigi area on June 17, 2025, received complaints regarding widespread corruption in the Mpigi District recruitment process and ordered Brig Gen Henry Isoke, Head of the State House Anti-corruption Unit to arrest district officials involved in selling government jobs.
