JUST IN! Kampala City Tycoon Remanded Over Madhvani Land

A Kampala City based businessman has been arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court and remanded for allegedly illegally procuring a titled land belong to Madhvani.

 

Kirenga Fred, a businessman based in Naguru, was today, Thursday, July 03, 2025 charged with fraudulently procuring a Certificate of Title.

 

He has been remanded until July 8, 2025.

 

According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that investigated and is prosecuting the case in liaison with ODPP, Kirenga joins several other accused, including Acting Commissioner of Surveys and Mapping Kakooza Jasper, Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Gomba District, Mugenyi Vicent, and 9 others who were earlier charged with the roles they played in the fraudulent creation of titles on land belonging to the Madhvani Group Ltd, specifically on FRV 60 folio 4, in Gomba District.

 

On June 15, 2020, in Gomba District, Kirenga Fred and his co-accused fraudulently obtained the registration of a freehold Certificate of Title for Block 311, Plot 36 and 37 in his name and others, despite knowing that another title for the same land already existed.
