The Honorary Consulate of Uganda in Israel has today, Sunday, 22nd June, 2025 given guidance to Ugandans currently in Israel on how to safely exit the Country amidst mounting tensions with Iran.
FULL STATEMEN
Dear Ugandan Citizens,
In view of the ongoing military situation in Israel and the partial closure of airspace, the Honorary Consulate advises Ugandans currently in Israel to consider the following evacuation options:
Exit Option via Jordan & Ethiopian Airlines
Ugandan nationals can exit Israel through the Allenby Bridge (King Hussein Bridge) into Jordan, then proceed to Amman Airport for onward travel via Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa and Entebbe.
Visa & Border Requirements:
📌 Ugandan passport valid for at least 6 months
📌 No prior immigration violations or bans
📌 Proof of sufficient funds or confirmed onward flight
Note: Jordan has recently been issuing visas on arrival at the Allenby crossing for Ugandans.
Flights:
Ethiopian Airlines is operational from Amman to Addis Ababa and Entebbe.
Due to suspension of flights by many other carriers (e.g., Emirates, Ryanair, Flydubai), early booking is essential.

Safety Measures – Home Front Command (Pikud HaOref)
All Ugandans are urged to strictly follow official emergency directives.
Mandatory Actions:
📲 Download the Home Front Command App for real-time alerts (available in English – Android/iOS)
On hearing a siren, enter the nearest shelter (Mamad/Miklat)
Avoid non-essential movement, especially in high-risk areas like Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Haifa, and Be’er Sheva.
