Seasoned journalist Kizito Brian Kironde, from Mubende has made the bold decision to quit the media industry and venture into politics in his hometown of Kasanda North.

Born in Kasanda, Kironde is the sixth of nine children, and his parents, Jane Kibuuka and Patrick Kibuuka, were both esteemed educators in various schools across the region. Kironde’s educational background is impressive, having attended Makonzi Boarding School, Mityana Modern SS, Mityana SS Namukozi, Ssesse Agrovet College, Makerere University, and Busoga University.

His professional journey began in the media industry, where he worked as a presenter and eventually became the station manager of Radio Kaaro 103.8 and later managed 88.4 Tropical FM Mubende for four years.

Kironde’s motivation for joining politics stems from his desire to bring about change in his community. He believes that his technical expertise in media and communication would make him an ideal candidate to chair the ICT committee, addressing the challenges facing the media industry in Uganda.

Additionally, he aims to integrate agricultural theories into practical lessons, empowering communities to shift towards commercial farming. As a prospective MP, Kironde is aware of the three major roles of parliamentarians as outlined in the constitution: representation, legislation, and oversight.

With his unique blend of media expertise and agricultural knowledge, Kironde is poised to make a meaningful impact in Kasanda North’s political landscape.
