Joshua Baraka Slams Artists for ‘Wasting Time’ Discussing Him Instead of Creating Music

Date:

Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka has expressed his disappointment with fellow artists who made a point of questioning his music and influence in numerous interviews.

Joshua Baraka has been widely recognized as a top star in Uganda, with his music reaching international markets. He recently made history as the first Ugandan artist to perform at the Afro-Nation Portugal Edition, and surpassed Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz to become the most-streamed East African artist on Spotify.

While his fans hailed him for representing their country, a section of artists has questioned his influence. With the lineup gradually going up, Joshua Baraka was forced to come out of his shell to address the issue.

Posting on his Snapchat, the ‘Wrong Places’ hitmaker emphasized that he was fed up with the constant criticism, especially from fellow artists. He accused them of wasting their time analyzing him instead of hitting the studio to make their own music. He encouraged all the artists who had opinions about him to leave them for the music consumers to debate.

“Why don’t you, as a musician, just keep quiet and just do music? If you are an artist, make art. Let it speak. Music has become PR, and I’m tired. We should all go back to the studio. Enough is enough

I also understand you having an opinion, but do you have to have it on everything? Let’s leave some of these things for the listeners to debate. Just convince us with your music. Anyway, let me also go back to the studio,” Joshua said.
