Jose Chameleone Undergoes Emergency Eye Surgery After Risk of Losing Sight

Singer Jose Chameleone has announced that he underwent an emergency eye surgery to correct a complication in one of his eyes.

On 17 February 2026, Jose Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja, took to his social media accounts to let his followers and fans know that he was at risk of losing sight in his right eye and that the condition was rapidly progressing. 

He immediately sought medical attention, where the doctors carried out surgery to curb permanent damage. The surgery was carried out by eye experts led by Dr. Ludovica Tindebwa Fadr, who did a wonderful job.

Jose Chameleone shared a selfie of himself smiling with a patched eye, as evidence to his fans that the surgery went well and he was getting better.

Thank you, Lord, for another great morning!! I thank Dr. Ludovica Tindebwa Fadr and the entire Kampala Eye Lasik Hospital team for my eye surgery and your hospitality. Was rapidly losing sight in my right eye. I seek your healing as always, my Lord,” he shared.
