John Blaq Explains Why Fame Doesn’t Last in the Music Industry

Date:

John Blaq has addressed the phenomenon of once-talented artists falling off the scene as the audience turns to fresh, trending artists.

The music industry often sees artists rise to fame with a breakout hits that push them to the top. But over time, some artists fade or fall out of the spotlight, paving the way for a new breed of artists whose music attracts the audience’s attention.

Many artists have struggled to come to terms with this truth, and John Blaq, during a TV interview, revealed that it was normal.

“People do not want to accept it, but you get all the attention, which comes to an end after they get used to you.  They will praise you, but over time you won’t be making the news anymore, as they are now used to you. We once got all that attention in the industry because then they had just known us, our voices were unique and different in all ways, but with time, you become regular,” he said.

John Blaq had his big breakthrough in the music industry in 2019 with hit songs like “Tukwatagane” and “Romantic”. His unique deep voice and lyrical maturity made him a favorite of many until he wasn’t because of the new talents.

Despite no longer getting the attention he used to get, especially from the youth, John Blaq emphasized that he expected it to happen because the audience was giving attention to artists hotter than him.

“In my head, I do not have a problem with it because I never thought that I would be on top all the time. No one has survived this wave; many come up, and people get used to them and leave them alone. Their legacy is still there, but then there is someone hotter than them,” he said.
