KCB Bank Uganda officials say investing in women and local communities is a strategic necessity for the country’s economic future, following the launch of the Mkazipreneur Community Library on Wednesday.
Speaking at the opening of the facility in Ntinda, Gladys Nalukenge Lubowa, relationship manager for women in business at KCB Bank Uganda, said that such investments lead to sustainable growth.
“When we invest in women and communities, we are investing in sustainable economic growth,” Lubowa said. “This community library is more than a reading space; it is a platform for ideas, entrepreneurship and opportunity.”
The library, an initiative of Mkazipreneur, is designed to provide women and youth with access to business development materials and a safe space for collaboration. KCB Bank supported the establishment and branding of the hub as part of its broader sustainability agenda.
The facility will serve as a knowledge hub for startups and a center for mentorship and skills development. By partnering with grassroots platforms, the bank aims to position itself as a catalyst for progress beyond traditional banking services.
KCB Bank Uganda and Mkazipreneur leaders have called on community members and stakeholders to utilize the library to maximize its impact for future generations.
KCB Bank Uganda is a commercial bank licensed by the Bank of Uganda, operating 15 branches and more than 500 bank agents across the country.
