I’m Not Competing Anymore: Maro Explains Shift in Music Approach

Date:

Musician Maro, real name Ronald Magada has revealed that he is no longer making music for competition but only releases songs as part of his career.

Maro recently moved to Zambia, where he has been for quite some time on personal business, and he rarely comes to Uganda. As a result, he has found it hard to catch up with the local market.

Maro is considered one of the best vocalists and the Busoga King of R&B. Speaking in a TV interview, Maro revealed that being far from home has affected his competitive spirit, leading him to make music for his fans.

“You will find good music on my page, and it has never changed. I do music, but I do not compete. Truth is, it pushed me back a little, but it doesn’t take away anything from my ability and talent because every song you hear is amazing,”

Despite pulling back from the competitive side, Maro stressed that it hasn’t prevented him from releasing more music. He has, in fact, been releasing a song every month since June, but is doing it at his own pace and not under pressure to top charts. His music, he said, can only be found on his digital channels.

The only difference is that you only find it on my page, and my YouTube has all my music. I decided I can no longer compete because I live far away in Zambia. If I cannot compete on time, I make sure the music keeps coming to my fans. I will still release, and I will always talk about it at every chance,”
