IGG Launches Integrity Ambassadors Club at St. Mary’s College Kisubi

The Deputy Inspector General of Government, Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe, on July 11, 2025, launched an Integrity Ambassadors Club at St. Mary’s College Kisubi.

 

The Deputy IGG noted that her office found it prudent to establish an Integrity Ambassadors Club in schools because there is need to inculcate ethics right from the secondary school level. She revealed that the idea to establish an Integrity Ambassadors Club at St. Mary’s College Kisubi was conceived in 2023 when she visited the school to talk about ethical conduct in promoting integrity.

 

While addressing students at the main Hall, Ms, Twinomugisha urged students to desist from acts of corruption saying its a serious vice eating up our country Uganda adding that it has threatened development projects in the country.

“Corruption is a moral crisis in our country. I urge all of you to speak out against corruption. Remember a person with integrity gets a good wife hence you should fight corruption,” Ms.Anne Twinomugisha urged students.

She said she will be so disappointed to hear that a member of Integrity Ambassadors Club is the one bullying fellow students adding that they should be honest with friends.

 

She urged students to educate others on the importance of integrity, arguing that corruption is not a government problem but a moral crisis in the country.

 

“Therefore, fighting it is not the work of government or office of the Inspectorate of Government but for all us,” Ms .Anne Twinomugisha called for collective efforts to end corruption.

 

Integrity clubs are important and safe places where you young people learn about ethics, accountability and patriotism.

 

 

The Headteacher St. Mary’s College, Kisubi, Bro. Simon Mpanga, informed the Deputy Inspector General of Government that his school values the spirit of integrity and that they respect ethical values and work ethics.

 

 

“At SMACK, corruption is a sin which is condemned by God. It’s a scourge which should not be tolerated in our society, ” Bro. Mpanga condemned corruption .

 

The Patron of Integrity Ambassadors Club at SMACK, Arthur Kugonza who also heads the Biology department, urged students to promote values of integrity, honest and accountability.

 

 

“By working together we can create a positive impact and inspire others to uphold integrity. It’s our responsibility to groom young people who will work for integrity but not money angry students,” Mr. Kugonza stressed his point.

 

The outgoing president of Integrity Ambassadors Club at SMACK, Walker Anold said he leaves the club with a good foundation revealing the club’s motto which states “Integrity starts with me.” He added that their efforts to fight corruption among students can’t go unrecognized and that it’s the very reason the club exists at SMACK.

 

The new president of Integrity Ambassadors Club of St. Mary’s College Kisubi, pledged to continue fighting corruption adding that to achieve this, he will work hand in hand with his executive committee members to grow the club to greater heights.
