“I Regretted Choosing a Man Over Music” – Karole Kasita Explains Her Priorities

Date:

Dancehall musician Karole Kasita has opened up about her love for music, explaining that she ranks it above any romantic relationship.

In an interview with Ruth Kalibbala, Karole Kasita revealed that she was a new mother and that it became hard for her to juggle motherhood, music, and her relationship with the baby daddy. She had to stop cohabiting and let her baby daddy go lest she lose her sanity.

“You cannot have the music, the big baby, and the small baby at the same time. Supposed to choose and let others go. You have to set time for music on a daily basis, just as you set time for your baby and your husband. the moment you spend a day without thinking about music, you will be left behind,” Karole Kasita said.

Karole further explained that music was so demanding and took up most of her time when she wasn’t with her son. She recalled the dark days when she put her relationship before music, and it became a disaster for both her personal life and career.

Despite not disclosing the extent of the damage it caused, Karole revealed that it took her a very long time to recover. Since then, all the men who have been in her life know how much she treasures her career and can never try to talk her out of it.

“Music and I are one thing.  Music is my first love, and if you cannot wait and be that patient, the door is very wide open for you to leave. The only time I tried putting a man before music, I regretted it. I realized it was not worth it.

We fell out bitterly, and I kept beating myself up, wondering what I was thinking. It took me some time to know that music was different from anything else. You can ask any musician who has made it. If they don’t tell you the truth, their partners will,” Kasita said.
