Renowned Ugandan media personality and actor Gaetano Jjuko Kaggwa has opened up about his time on Big Brother Africa (BBA) in 2003, saying he has no regrets about anything he did on the reality TV show.
“I don’t give a damn whether I did it in public. So what! I wasn’t bothered by who was watching me,” Gaetano boldly said, reflecting on his time in the house.
Gaetano, popularly known by his first name, represented Uganda in the first season of Big Brother Africa, where he made it to Day 106 and finished in fifth place after receiving just one out of thirteen votes to win.
His time on the show sparked wide attention, even inspiring the popular Bebe Cool hit song “Kyoka Gae…,” which kept his name on everyone’s lips.
Beyond reality TV, Gaetano is a multi-talented personality. He is an actor, radio presenter, and emcee.
He currently co-hosts the widely followed breakfast show Gaetano & Lucky in the Morning on 91.3 Capital FM alongside Lucky Mbabazi.
He also serves as a judge on the regional talent competition East Africa’s Got Talent.
Despite the controversy and public interest that followed his time in the Big Brother house, Gaetano remains firm and unapologetic about his past, continuing to thrive in Uganda’s media and entertainment industry.
