Hon. Balaam Summons Chosen Becky Over Alleged Misuse of Children at Her Wedding

Date:

State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Balaam Barugahara, has issued an official summons to singer Chosen Becky to appear at his offices following the controversial videos showing her children holding poking placards at their wedding.

According to the letter signed by Balaam, the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development expressed interest after images from Chosen Becky and Ssekajja’s wedding circulated widely on social media.

They showed children holding placards with messages that looked like they were targeting adults in a way likely to cause emotional harm, public controversy, and online exploitation.

Whereas the Ministry respects the right to privacy, family life, and freedom of expression, children must never be used as instruments in adult disputes, publicity stunts, or social media controversies. Children are innocent, vulnerable, and entitled to protection, dignity, and care from parents and guardians, regardless of past or present disagreements between adults, read part of the statement.

Chosen Becky is expected to appear in Hon. Balaam’s office by Tuesday, 23rd December, for a formal meeting regarding the matter.

She is also expected to delete the said videos, issue a public apology, acknowledging that she was wrong for involving children in her disagreements with their father, and also put it in writing that she would never put her children in such a position again.

On the cards the children were holding, the messages thanked Ssekajja for marrying their mom and for becoming the caring father they never had. They also reminded the public that their mother now owned the ‘Ssekajja’ name and no one would take that away from her.
