Green Daddy Critiques B2C’s 10th Anniversary Concert for Overlooking Upcoming Artists in Uganda’s Music Scene

Date:

Green Daddy, a Ugandan musician known for his bold opinions, has publicly criticized the B2C trio for overlooking emerging artists during their 10-year anniversary celebration. The event, held on May 9, 2025, at Hotel Africana, marked a decade in the music industry for B2C, comprising Bobby Lash, Mr. Lee, and Delivad Julio.

Despite their success, Green Daddy expressed disappointment that the concert lineup did not feature any up-and-coming talents.

In a statement, Green Daddy emphasized the importance of supporting the next generation of artists, stating, “Our music industry thrives on collaboration and mentorship. Ignoring fresh talent is a missed opportunity for growth.” He further noted that such oversight could hinder the industry’s evolution and alienate younger audiences eager to see new faces on stage.

B2C, on the other hand, defended their decision, explaining that the anniversary concert was a personal milestone and an opportunity to celebrate their journey with their established fanbase. They acknowledged the value of emerging artists but felt that the event was not the appropriate platform for their inclusion.

This criticism from Green Daddy has sparked a broader conversation within the Ugandan music community about the balance between honoring veteran artists and providing opportunities for newcomers. Many industry observers agree that while celebrating achievements is important, it should not come at the expense of nurturing future talent.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how B2C and other established artists will respond to calls for greater inclusivity in future events.
