Gravity Omutujju Fires Back at GNL Zamba Following Poor Concert Turnout

Date:

Rapper Gravity Omutujju has mocked fellow rapper GNL Zamba over his recently flopped concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, despite going through a similar fate months ago.

Last year in September, Gravity Omutujju was the topic on social media following the heavy flop of his ‘Embaga ya Isma ne Amina’ at Lugogo Cricket Oval. Despite the usual bug numbers that he had been securing at the same venue, fans snubbed that particular show and opted for Mikie Wine’s concert at Jahazi Pier.

While appearing on a live TikTok broadcast, Gravity Omutujju lost his cool when one follower questioned why he was discussing his nemesis GNL Zamba’s flopped Yenze HipHop concert at the same venue.

In his submission, the circumstances were different. On his day, Gravity emphasized that the city had several top events happening simultaneously at various venues. Mikie Wine at Jahazi Pier, Qing Madi at Zoe Grounds, and Congolese legend Awilo Longomba, who was sharing the same stage with Nigeria’s Chike at the Sheraton Hotel.

Secondly, he claimed that music fans were angry because he had mocked his competition, Mikie Wine. He claimed that his family, along with the entire NUP fraternity, couldn’t outnumber him at his concert, and they decided to boycott it in solidarity with Mikie Wine.

Gravity claimed that it was his second show in the same year at the same venue; therefore, the numbers were expected to be lower than the previous one.

Gravity laughed at GNL Zamba’s claim that he had no reason to have such a low turn-up.

GNL Zamba has, in numerous interviews, criticized Gravity Omutujju to the extent of calling him an empty tin during one of his recent media tours for his show. He (Zamba) called out the hip-hop artists who came after his generation, including Gravity, for disrespecting legends like himself, who he claims paved the way for them in the genre.

Gravity, however, questioned his legendary status, also downplaying his contribution to the growth of the genre.

“Coming before anyone else doesn’t make you a legend, but what you did. You have one song and want people to call you a legend. When you browse his YouTube channel, he doesn’t have a song that has surpassed 500K views, yet he brags about earning money on Spotify. In my books, he is not a legend, he said.
